JAKARTA, – Accelebator with SkillsSG Ventures and LessonsGoWhere brought 30 investors in the education sector from Singapore to Indonesia. The visit called “Singapore Skills Investment Mission” was held on April 23-26 2019 to Jakarta and Cikarang.

Investors were taken directly to Cikarang to meet with President University, where previously there had been a collaboration between President University Foundation, SkillsSG Ventures and Octagon Universal. On that occasion, they introduced to the President Community Academy and the SetSail BizAccel Incubator.

The following day, they were allowed to learn more about Indonesia when meeting with officials from the BKPM and the Ministry of Manpower. Collaboration also occurs between President University and Lithan Academy, where both will present the Global Ready Digital Talent with an international internship program.

“The Skills Investment Mission provides an excellent opportunity for Singapore education institutions to be directly involved with many education stakeholders in Jakarta in general, and especially in Cikarang. PT Jababeka, President University Foundation, and President University were excellent hosts for Singapore delegates and Indonesian guests who invited to various meetings and networking sessions,” said Anderson Tan, Chairman of Skills SG Ventures.

Anderson also expressed his gratitude to the Singapore Ambassador to Indonesia H.E. Anil Kumar Nayar, Enterprise Singapore, Jababeka Group Director Sutedja Sidarta Darmono, SCCI and others for their support in the Networking Skills event on April 25.

“We believe this missionary journey has sparked strong interest among Singaporean educational institutions to explore potential contributions to President Jokowi’s commitment. President Jokowi said that in 2019, the government would transfer the massive development program from infrastructure projects to human resource development,” he concluded.

While Handa S. Abidin conveyed, “This event is the implementation of cooperation between President University and SkillsSG Ventures which previously had collaborated through the MoU. We hope that event participant consisting of training service providers from Singapore can provide added value for our students who want to learn about certain skills such as in the IT field.”
