Angkasa Pura I Ready to Manage Sentani and Sis Al-Jufri Airports

JAKARTA, presidentpost.id – PT Angkasa Pura I (Persero) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Ministry of Transportation’s Directorate General of Air Transportation regarding the plan to cooperate and transfer management of the Sentani Airport in Jayapura and the Sis Al-Jufri Airport in Palu.

The MoU was signed by PT Angkasa Pura I (Persero) President Director Faik Fahmi and Acting Director General of Air Transportation of the Ministry of Transportation, Sukarno Pramintohadi in Jakarta on Thursday (9/6).

“Angkasa Pura I is ready to accept the assignment to manage the Sentani Airport in Jayapura and the Sis Al-Jufri Airport in Palu as well as to develop them commercially by improving the services for the users. This is also expected to stimulate the regional development which in turn will improve the regional economy,” said Faik Fahmi.

The Memorandum of Understanding is the initial foundation for the cooperation plan and the preparation of the study on the transfer management of Sentani Airport Jayapura and Sis Al-Jufri Airport Palu to generate a scheme that is mutually beneficial, efficient, sustainable and in accordance with applicable regulations.

The scope agreed in the MoU is to collaborate on the transfer of management of Sentani Airport and Sis Al-Jufri Airport, including the use of state-owned goods under the Utilization Cooperation (KSP) scheme.

The Memorandum of Understanding states that PT Angkasa Pura I (Persero) will explore the opportunities to manage the Sentani Airport and Sis Al-Jufri Airport on an ongoing basis by holding a study and compiling a proposal regarding how to utilize the state-owned properties at the airports as well as the investment plan according to the master plan of each airport.

“The results of the study will be evaluated by the Director General of Air Transportation of the Ministry of Transportation and used as the basis for the consideration in creating the cooperation agreement. We hope the commercial management transfer of these two airports in eastern Indonesia will bring positive contributions to the equitable development of regional economy,” Faik Fahmi said. (DTK/TPP)
