Bandung Learns How to Regulate Social Media from Buleleng

SINGARAJA, – The government of Bandung Regency, West Java, has conducted a comparative study in Buleleng Regency to learn about the regent regulation about social media management.

Secretary of Personnel, Education and Training Agency (BKPPD) of Bandung Regency, Yani Suhardi Setiawan, in Singaraja on Monday (8/13), said that Buleleng Regency was chosen for the comparative study on social media management because Buleleng already has the clear rules on the social media management.

“Although the Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform Minister Regulation No. 83 Year 2012 has been removed, many regencies/cities have not eliminated the derivative rules, but Buleleng Regency has revised it,” he said.

The leader of Bandung Regency delegate added that the team that carried out this comparative study had an obligation to take one literacy from Buleleng Regency. It is expected that the literacy will be applied later in Bandung Regency.

“The technical matters will be handled by Department of Communications and Public Relations. We will try to apply it in our region later. Success for Buleleng Regency,” said Yani.

Meanwhile, Head of the Public Relations Division of the Buleleng Regency Ketut Suwarmawan said the visit by the delegate of Bandung Regency Government was carried out because they were designing a regent regulation to manage the social media.

“At present the Buleleng Regency Government itself already has Regent Regulation Number 17 Year 2017 concerning Utilization of Pages/Websites and Social Media of the Buleleng Regency Government with the Public Relations and Protocol of Buleleng Regency acting as the social media manager,” he said.

Implicitly, the Public Relations of the Buleleng Regency Government is assigned to manage the social media for the Buleleng Regency Government, especially the regent and deputy in the information dissemination about the programs, policies and governmental activities. (ANT/TPP)
