How is Jakarta-Cikampek Elevated Toll Road Project Going?


JAKARTA, – The Jakarta – Cikampek Elevated Toll Road project (Japek II) is planned to be completed in 2019. General Superintendent of Japek II Elevated Cikunir – West Karawang Project Development of PT Waskita Karya, Fatkhur Rozaq, said that the company is currently working on bore piles which have completed 90 percent, pile caps 70 percent, columns 60 percent, pillar heads 40 percent, erection girders 15 percent, and casted floor 8 percent.

“The whole work has now reached 30 percent. The elevated toll road worked on by Waskita Karya has a length of 36 kilometers which is expected to reduce 40 percent of the traffic density on the currently operated Jakarta – Cikampek toll road,” he said after reviewing the project site on Thursday (4/3).

The construction of Jakarta-Cikampek II (elevated) toll road will stretch from Cikunir to West Karawang. This elevated toll road will pass 10 areas, namely Cikunir, West Bekasi, East Bekasi, Tambun, Cibitung, Cikarang Utama, West Cikarang, Cibatu, East Cikarang, and West Karawang.

Based on the data of the Toll Road Regulatory Agency (BPJT), the Jakarta – Cikampek ll (elevated) toll road consists of 9 sections, namely Cikunir – Bekasi Barat section with a length of 2.99 km, West Bekasi-East Bekasi section 3.63 km, East Bekasi -Tambun section 4.34 km and Tambun – Cibitung section 3.30 km.

In addition, there are also Cibitung – Cikarang Utama section with a length of 4.46 km, Cikarang Utama – West Cikarang section 2.72 km, West Cikarang – Cibatu section 3.16 km, Cibatu – East Cikarang section 2.45 km and East Cikarang – West Karawang 9.79 km. (DTK/TPP)
