West Java Provincial Government Acquires 1.7 Km of Land for Road to BIJB

BANDUNG, presidentpost.com – West Java Provincial Government continues to complement facilities at the West Java International Airport (BIJB) to maximize the function of the ​​1,800 hectares airport.

According to West Java Governor Ahmad Heryawan, one work currently being rushed is the construction of toll road and regular road in 2018 to access the BIJB, located in Kertajati, Majalengka Regency, West Java. West Java Governor Aher said he must acquire some land plots for the construction of BIJB infrastructure. “BIJB needs about 1.7 kilometers of land for the construction of a regular road,” said Ahmad Heryawan, who is familiarly called Aher, recently.

Aher said, for the toll road, to be integrated with the Cipali interchange highway, will takes up approximately three kilometers of land. This toll road will make it easier to access the BIJB Kertajati from the Cipali highway.

The land acquisition, according to him, has been completed in 2017 using the West Java Provincial state budget (APBD). Meanwhile the construction of the roads will be financed by the national state budget (APBN).

Director of PT BIJB Virda Dimas Ekaputra said the toll road and regular road will meet in the location adjacent to the airport terminal. Virda said he hoped, after being inspected by Governor Aher, the process of land acquisition and the procurement of goods for the construction can be completed before the operation of BIJB. “Hopefully after being inspected by the governor, the process of land acquisition and the construction can be completed before the operation of this airport,” he said.

Virda added the development progress of BIJB until Saturday (12/30) has reached 82 percent. He also has communicated with PT Angkasa Pura (AP) II regarding the cooperation in the operation of the airport. “Until now, the construction has reached 82 percent and the soft launching will be done in April 2018,” he said.
