JAKARTA, presidentpost.com – PT Jababeka Tbk through its subsidiary, PT Grahabuana Cikarang, or better known as Jababeka Residence, has been developing 500 hectares of land area into an international self-sufficient township aiming at the upper-middle market. The facilities to support it have been and are being prepared in catering the needs of residents’ lifestyle, ranging from housing, workplace and an integrated business center, international education park, to health, recreational and sports facilities for the international elites.
President Director of Jababeka Residence, Sutedja S Darmono, said that Jababeka Residence will be developed into a self-sufficient city, expected to transform the image of Kota Jababeka into an exclusive integrated area.
“Our target is the upper and international market. Because the market of expatriates in Kota Jababeka is very big. There are 10,000 expatriates whose contribution is huge for the economic growth in Cikarang area. That is why our concept, services and products will be changed and directed to target the upper class,” he added.
Sutedja also said that he has prepared the Jababeka Residence since 2013. Currently some residential apartments and public facilities have been developed for the comfort of the residents.
Jababeka Residence also has cooperated in joint ventures with PT Plaza Indonesia Realty Tbk to build the Mayfair Estate & Parklands. The Mayfair Estate & Parklands, including Plaza Indonesia Jababeka, will stand on 16 hectares of land and be equipped with a shopping center, a five-star hotel, a convention center, apartments and office buildings and will be completed in 2019.
Since mid-2017, a commercial area as well as the first most comprehensive hang out spot in Cikarang, called the Hollywood Junction, has been established. Covering an area of 8,000 m2 and a 3,500 m2 building, the two-hectare lifestyle center is designed with an open-air concept (alfresco dining) able to accommodate up to 20 tenants, complete with an amphitheater, sociality stores, beauty salons, supermarket as well as restaurants and culinary center. Some noted eateries there include J.Co, Bread Talk, Oriental Sapo, Bari UmaRamen, KFC, Cafe Delico, Solaria, and Pizza Hut.
Jababeka Residence is also developing a golf apartment with a blend of Japanese tradition. The project is named Kawana Golf Residence on a land area of 3.7 hectares in collaboration with the Creed Group, one of Japan’s leading developers.
The apartment, offering views of Jababeka Golf Course & Country Club, is sold with prices ranging from Rp1 billion-Rp1,7 billion. “Since it was introduced on October 9, we have received order numbers (NUP) 50% of the total units,” Sutedja said.
It does not stop there, in recent years, the development of infrastructure and public facilities in Cikarang shows a significant progress. Starting from the operation of KRL Jakarta-Cikarang Commuter Line, the extension of LRT to Cikarang, the construction of the Balaraja-Cikarang MRT which will begin in 2019 and is targeted to finish by 2023, the construction of Jakarta-Cikampek elevated toll road, Kertajati International Airport which will be operational in 2018, and the plan to accelerate the development of Patimban Port.
“With such a massive development we prepare, Jabebeka Residence is intended for the upper-middle and premium market. The selection of this segment is in line with the target set by the company,” Sutedja said. (TPP)
