Delegation of 15 Karachi Companies Visits Jababeka, Seeking to Invest in Indonesia

CIKARANG, – PT Jababeka Tbk. received a visit of a delegation from Pakistan. They represented 15 big companies in Karachi, members of the Pakistan Indonesia Business Forum (PIBF). The delegation visited the Jababeka Industrial Estate (KIJ) as they were interested in Jababeka’s success in building the industrial estate.

“The main objective is to support the national investment. So we invite foreign investors who initially wanted to trade only. We show the potentials of investment in Indonesia to them,” said General Manager of Kendal Industrial Park, Susan Wijaya, about the purpose of the delegation’s visit.

“So they know now the investment facilities provided in Indonesia, the government’s support, and what kinds of support from us as the developer of industrial estates. We raise their interest to see the great potentials to invest in Indonesia, especially in Jababeka Group’s industrial estates in Kendal, Morotai, Cikarang, and Tanjung Lesung,” she added.

It was the first visit of a Pakistani delegation to KIJ. The event began with welcoming speech by Director of PT Jababeka Tbk. Sutedja Sidarta Darmono, followed by a presentation from Jababeka Infrastructure, Kendal Industrial Estate, and Cikarang Dry Port. The delegation then visited the Cikarang Dry Port as well as PT Conwood, PT Indosultan Indonesia, and PT Indraloka. The last three companies are tenants of KIJ.

KIJ houses 1,650 multinational companies from 30 countries with 730,000 workers and 10,000 expatriates working there. The infrastructure within the estate is in-house developed, including the 130 MW power plant managed by PT Bekasi Power, a subsidiary of PT Jababeka Tbk.

Jababeka also develops logistics facilities, serving import-export activities as well as domestic distribution, named Cikarang Dry Port. The Cikarang Dry Port is the first and currently the only Integrated Customs Service Area (KPPT) in Indonesia, allowing the import-export customs clearance to be completed within the KIJ. This estate also has its own water treatment plant, supplying clean water to the industrial and residential areas, and a wastewater treatment plant operated by another subsidiary PT Jababeka Infrastruktur.

The location of this industrial estate is only 35 km from Jakarta with the travel time of about 45 minutes. There are two accesses through the toll gates on the KM 31 of West Cikarang and on the KM 34.7. To get to this area, 5 bus routes to and from Jababeka Industrial Estate are available, as well as the Electric Railway Line (KRL) from any point along the Jakarta Kota Station – Tambun to KIJ. (TPP)
