New Sepinggan Airport Will Be Equipped with Mall



Major renovation Sepinggan Airport terminal in Balikpapan, East Kalimantan, has been completed. According to the plan, the new Sepinggan will begin its operation on March 22, 2014.

Currently, PT Angkasa Pura I (Persero), as the regulator, to verify the readiness of Sepinggan Airport. After that, it will follow with the verification that will be done by the Ministry of Transportation. Once the verification is completed, Sepinggan Airport will be operated on 22 March. This was delivered by Sepinggan Balikpapan Airport General Manager, Wendo Asrul Rose.

He said that the verification will include such as regulation, facility readiness, security, human resources.
Further he explained that Sepinggan Airport will be equipped with Sepinggan boutique mall. These facilities make The New Sepinggan as the first airport in Indonesia equipped with mall. Currently, PT Angkasa Pura I (Persero) have been doing auctions for the management of the commercial area in the mall and the area around the airport.
